Christmas Decor

Every Christmas Mom and I like to send each other pictures of our Christmas decorations.

These first three pictures are Mom's decorations in her living and dining room.

I enjoyed pulling out all of my Christmas decorations this year since we were staying home, and all of the kids would be home for Christmas, which hasn't been the case for five years!

(Brittney forgot to bring her stocking with her from Utah)

Showing Sean around our "Old Kentucky Home"

This past Christmas break Sean came to Kentucky for a visit.
Even though KY is pretty grey in the winter, it was still fun showing him some of the sites ...

 like the rolling hills,

 and miles of horse farms.
We also pointed out the many distilleries along the way, and visited Woodford Reserve, which is one of my favorites because of where it is located and the history behind it!
 The beautiful distillery's grounds.
I've never noticed it before but there is even an old cemetery on the property.

I love all the old brick buildings, and the same way they've been making bourbon for hundreds of years!
I wanted to get a few family Christmas pictures during our little tour of Kentucky, so Sean was nice enough to be our photographer.
(he took a few selfies here and there just so we would remember who was behind the camera)
How difficult is it to get a decent family picture with grown children? I'll let you decide ...
Inside the Woodford Reserve Visitor Center

Merinda found a little furry friend all curled up in front of the fire.

Next stop was the Old Capital in downtown Frankfort. Again, all I wanted was a simple family picture in front of pretty trees on the capital grounds ...

Merinda refusing to get in the picture and claim us as her family.
(arghhhhh!)

Okay, I'm done!

Next picture attempt...in front of the currant Capital Building!

Breck lifting me up (I don't know why!)

Merinda again deciding whether or not to be apart of the family...

Cutie's Brittney & Sean

Back to Woodford County and Midway College,

then Norma Jeans for dinner, our favorite place to eat in Midway!
During Sean's visit, Brittney and Sean also enjoyed visiting the Holts, Allens, and other close friends.
And of course, playing cards with Merinda!
Since Sean left before Christmas he opened his gifts early which included a handmade winter hat from Grandma Virginia,

and UK hat from us (I literally searched Kentucky over for the perfect one).
Sad goodbye (even though they will be reunited in less than a week!)
We are sure glad Sean came to visit, and hope he had as good of time with us as we did with him!
