Home Again III

Vineyard, Utah
Mom still lives with Jared and family in Vineyard.
Mom and I enjoyed going with James to take his dog Maru on a walk around the park.
Maru is a sweet dog, but James is the sweetest!
It was great catching up with James, who incidentally went back to the California Institute of the Arts this Fall, doing character animation (so proud of him!).
Cindy was also staying at Mom's the same time we were there, and it was nice catching up with her as well.
And of course Brad had to take them to his favorite shaved ice place, Hokulia!
Cindy turned the big "50", so I was glad that I could hand-deliver her birthday gifts this year ...
Cindy's poor gummy bears after leaving them in the hot car.
Her Milk Duds melted too, and looked just like ... (well, you can see for yourself).
We also visited Dad's grave site, and for some reason Brad and I decided this was the year to buy our plots next to Dad (well, as close as we could get anyway).
And as always, I enjoyed my morning runs along Utah Lake.
I was surprised when a baby deer pranced across my path on one of the mornings.

Payson, Utah
One of my favorite things to do when visiting Utah is get together with my Dad's side of the family at Peteetneet School in Payson, Utah.
I can't thank my aunt Bonnie enough for spear-heading the event. It was jut so wonderful seeing everyone again ...
Uncle Howard and my cousin Erin's husband (I have a hard enough time remembering my own cousins let alone their spouses and children, so I will just stick with first names)
My uncle Brad and my cousin Devin
My Sisters Sasha & Melanie, and our cousins Meghan and Erin
Sasha and Melanie with our cousin Carlene, who is a good mix of them both

Midway, Utah
For the 24th of July we had a family picnic at Matt's house with Mom, Cindy, Sasha's and Matt's families.
And of course we had to go on a hike in the mountains behind his house!
Matt's cutie kids Bode, Morgan, and Tage
Beautiful view of Heber Valley
My other favorite thing to do in Utah ... going on nature hikes with Matt!
Because of all the moisture they received this year the wild flowers were so vibrant and plentiful ...
We hiked to the foundation of Matt's dream cabin.

The view of Us from the cabin

Amazing views of the Valley (and Deercreek Reservoir) from the "cabin"
Going down ...
with more breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains...
and valley ...

Visiting while preparing the delicious pot-luck/BBQ in the kitchen.

No more Creamies :(
Last but not least was the grand fireworks!
Every year that we've gone to see the fireworks with Matt, he's progressively picked the most amazing viewing spots ever!
And this year was no different!
The kids had fun with their glow sticks, and all of us had fun touring Matt & Brei's friends' mansion, who's property we were on.
Rachelle and Sasha getting their perfect seats ready ...
with plenty of bug spray to go around!
Sasha squinting to find the fireworks ...
Hey, it's the family bonding that really matters anyway!!!
