Thanksgiving

We had beautiful weather on Thanksgiving this year so we dragged all the kids to Legacy Trail for a fun family run/walk.
It was so nice having Brittney fly home for the Thanksgiving holiday, so she could spend time with Breck and Aubrey, and we could all be together as a family one last time, before the kids left for their missions.

We kept our Thanksgiving meal pretty simple this year so that Brittney would be able to enjoy it too.
The best part about Thanksgiving day was the exchange of gifts Brittney bough or made for Breck and Aubrey to take on their missions.
Since Brittney already served a mission to a Spanish speaking country, she knew exactly what they would need...
special microfiber towels that dry quickly in humid environments,
leather Spanish scripture cases,
study books which Brittney decorated, laminated, and re-bound,
 easy-care clothing,
 missionary journals,
Spanish hymnals,

and other important items, all of which she paid for with her own money.

The kids were very appreciative!

(maybe Breck was a little too appreciative)
Breck also bought some important things for his mission, like this miniature Christmas tree. (It just needed a little tree skirt to make it complete). The best part was Brad searching every store for the proper sized container (regardless of price) to transport the tree. (If I were a teenager, this would be about the time I would start hash-tagging on how soft Brad has become in his old age).

I really cherish these moments, and am going to miss sitting around the table together playing games, talking, laughing, and just enjoying each other.

And I am already looking forward to the time when we will all be reunited as a family once again!
