Trip to Italy - Florence

Florence, is the capital of Italy's Tuscany region and birthplace of the Renaissance.
  Our hotel in downtown Florence,
 with yet another obscure entrance.
Our hotel room, which was a little too period for Brad's liking.

Views looking out our hotel room window.

Even the Hard Rock Cafe, in the middle of the shopping district, was a work of art.
Florence Medieval Cathedral, one of the largest cathedrals in the world, called II Duomo di Firenze built 1296-1436.
It has the largest red dome (cupola) ever constructed.
Campanile di Biotto or Duomo Bell-tower completed in 1359, it has 414 steps leading to the top.

The Duomo's Baptistery directly across from the Cathedral, is one of Florence's oldest buildings, likely raised somewhere between the 4th and 7th centuries.
Piazza del Duomo or Catherdral Square.
Young Catholic Priests running to the Duomo.
 Basilica of Santa Maria Novella.
Ponte Vecchio - medieval stone bridge lined with art galleries.
Ponte Vexxhio - the oldest bridge in Florence.

Florence or Tuscan-style homes along the Arno River.
