When our friends, Mark and Bridgette, asked us to come watch them dance at the annual USA Dance Showcase Bluegrass Chapter, we were excited to actually have something fun to do for date night!
Mark and Bridgette getting ready to dance the Cha Cha!
They did an amazing job (of course) and so did everyone else who performed.
Between showcases, it was free dance for everyone. I was even asked to dance, and thank goodness my partner was a good leader because I know zero ballroom dance steps!
Probably half of our Georgetown Ward went to watch Mark and Bridgette perform, and here we are in the background (I'm in black sitting down) watching this couple dance the Rumba.
These ladies, from The Flat Out Dance Team, were so cute! One of them even told Brad he looked like "a million bucks!" That pretty much made his day!
Some of the other dances we watched were: the Triple Two (whatever that is),
The Cuban Son by the Salsa Center Formation Team,
Theatrical Rumba,
Bolero,
Waltz, by the Danceville USA Formation Team,
West Cost Swing,
Lindy Hop,
Viennese Waltz,
and the Paso Doble. The thing that impressed me the most was the diversity of the dancers. They were all ages, all nationalities, and from all walks of life, just getting together and having fun. It just made me want to start ballroom dancing!!!
