Brittney's internship with Parker O-ring division in Lexington, Ky ended one day before she flew back to BYU-I for her last Semester.
She learned a lot about o-rings which is evident in these o-ring comics she created.
But she also learned computer and internet skills,
important job skills that will be advantageous to her chosen communication's profession,
and what it's like to work for a large company with bright professionals (who were so kind and helpful). Brittney's internship with Parker was truly a blessing!
Before Brittney left we had to eat one meal with her at the El Salvadorian restaurant in town.
Before Brittney left we had to eat one meal with her at the El Salvadorian restaurant in town.
Unfortunately, she couldn't eat any of the food because of her special diet, but she had a good time brushing up on her Spanish with our waiter/owner, and recommending food for us to order.
Merinda ordered a Torta which is basically a sandwitch,
And Brad ordered Desayuno Tipico which is a typical El Salvadorian breakfast.
For dessert we shared some Flan, which typically is not my favorite, but this Flan was pretty much to die for!
It was bitter sweet to see Brittney go. It was nice having her here for so long, and to have another cheerful set of hands around the house, but her health had finally improved to the point that she needed to finish school and get on with her life.
At BYU-I she bumped into good friends from her mission, and has spent quality time with her cousins Alyssa and Blakely.
Our favorite Bradford Pear tree blew down in the front yard while we were gone for Spring Break.
We are just grateful it blew down on the road and not on our house, or vehicles.
Merinda's been working hard on her Media Arts semester project and has filmed many families at church (the project is on mothers).
The Young Women learning all about self-defense.
Merinda and Lauren getting ready to see "God's Not Dead II".
Merinda and Ethan's band got all "Perfects" at the KMEA festival.
And Merinda did a great job at her piano recital playing "Pachelbel in Cannon D". Her teacher, Truett Gonzales (used to be Mason), is the same teacher that Brittney and Aubrey had. This is a picture of Truett's current students - the recital was held at a church here in town.
