Brittney's Surprise Visit

Brittney had the idea (forever ago) to surprise Aubrey when she came home from her mission. She decided to fly home over the 4th of July when she would have a few more days off of work. The hardest part for all of us was keeping it a secret for so long. Although Aubrey thought Brittney might come, when she never showed up, Aubrey assumed it wasn't going to happen. The morning Brittney arrived we practically dragged Aubrey out of the shower!  We just couldn't wait any longer. We told Aubrey to close her eyes because we had a big surprise for her, and then...
SURPRISE!!! Brittney jumped out and gave Aubrey a big hug!
 It was so sweet!!
All the tortured waiting and lying was worth it!
All my girls together again at last!

Modeling the handmade/painted Chilean dresses Aubrey brought home for each of us.
The Sunday after Brittney arrived we decided to celebrate Aubrey and Brittney's birthdays since they will both be out West for their birthdays this year. Brittney picked the cake (Gluten Free Applesauce cake) and Aubrey chose her favorite ice cream (Peanut Butter Chocolate).
It was so fun having all the girls home again.
Brittney even brought me a diffuser and new shirt for my Birthday and Mother's Day, and Brad a new thermos for Father's Day!
Merinda made the girls beautiful cards and gave Aubrey running socks and make-up accessories, and Brittney a shirt and make-up accessories.
I gave Brittney the blanket I crochet in a day.

Then Brittney gave Aubrey a mission book she has been working on for eighteen months. It's a hardback book of all of Aubrey's pictures and e-mails from her entire Mission. Since Brittney was running out of time, she even paid Merinda minimum wage to edit the book. So now Merinda can safely say she has read every one of Aubrey's Mission e-mails!
Since I thought the book was so amazing, I just had to order one for myself.
Aubrey's e-mails home were basically her journal, so this book it will be a keepsake she can treasure forever!
Brittney has become quite the little chef because of her special diet. We so enjoyed the Butternut Squash Risotto, Blackened Green Beans, and Grilled Chicken she made us for dinner one night!
It was so much fun having Brittney visit for a few days over the 4th of July, but it ended all too soon!

We were all dreading another "goodbye" but at least Aubrey will get to see her sister again in just a few short weeks when she goes back to BYU-I.
Unfortunately, I won't get to see her again until Christmas (this is a sight I will never get used to!). But, at least there is blessed Facetime!!!
