Breck's Wedding V

Breck & Iris' Wedding Reception
Falls Church, Virginia
August 17, 2019
Iris' Father Jose, her Father's Girlfriend Mary, and Iris' little Grandmother, who actually came from El Salvador (where Iris was born) to attend the wedding!
I had to get this picture off of Facebook because every picture I took of Iris' Mother (red dress standing next to her aunt in pink, sister in blue, and cousin in black) was a blur from her running around crazy all evening. I know things did not go perfectly (like Iris' step-father getting to the reception late because his car broke down), but it was a very nice night with great food, great music & dancing, and Breck & Iris really enjoying themselves ...
The gym at the Falls Church Ward building was decorated beautifully,
with Iris' mauve & white wedding colors.
More ceiling lights!
The table settings were also very classy (Breck & Iris welcoming guests far right),

including the center pieces which Iris made using the same flowers from our Kentucky Openhouses (best investment ever!).
I think this was supposed to be Iris' family's table but they never stopped moving long enough to sit down, so it remained vacant most of the night.
The gift & card table
The Wedding and Groomsman cake table
The Bride & Groom's table
The awesome DJ that played the best music ever (80's and Latino)!
Our family's table - Victor and Virginia actually took the Amtrak cross-country to attend the reception in Virginia.
Aubrey and Victor & Virginia meeting Iris' Father
The best picture I could get of Iris' brother Bryan, who was also busy helping out all evening. Iris' brother and his girlfriend Andrea (above) also traveled cross-country to attend the wedding.
Breck high-fiving Merinda while Iris' maid of honor Marianna introduced herself to Victor & Virginia (FYI - Marianna also once went on a date with Wesley Holt).
Family pictures ...
Last year Aubrey lived in the same housing complex as Iris so when Aubrey (who's a pretty tough critic) gave her Iris stamp of approval, the rest of us were sold!
Iris has visited Victor & Virginia many times in Buhl, Idaho, and I'm pretty sure it's one of her favorite places to decompress from life!
All the Bride's Maids lining up in the hall before being formally announced to the guests.

Breck entertaining himself while waiting for the processional to begin.
The ring ceremony where Breck & Iris exchanged rings, and Iris' Bishop said a few remarks ...
The Bride & Groom's Dance
Father/Daughter and ...
Mother/Son Dance
Breck & Iris sitting at their lovely table.
Dinner was buffet style with the Bride and Groom going first, and then our table since we were table #1.
Breck & Iris eating the delicious food ...
which was El Salvadorian mushroom chicken n' rice, beet juice potato salad (Iris' Mom's favorite), beef & veggies, re-fried beans, green salad, soda, & rolls.
Time to make a toast (with sparkling fruit juices) to the Bride & Groom.
Traditional dancing where the women pay money to dance with the groom, and the men pay to dance with the bride (Marianna is holding the basket for the money).
Virginia paying her money to get one of the first dances with Breck.
Breck having too much fun dancing with the ladies of all ages ...
Iris finding a "gentleman" to dance with who is just about her right size!
Another Bride & Groom dance,
and then free dance for everyone!
Iris trying to get Aubrey and Merinda to dance (Merinda later dances the night away with me!).
Iris couldn't talk Aubrey into dancing but she did get Victor to dance, which was caught on video that the kids are watching above.
Breck dancing with Iris' Mom, and Iris dancing with her Step-Father Diego (who helped raise her).
Breck & Iris being serenaded by Iris' uncle.
Time to cut the cake,
and feed each other a bite (thank goodness there was no smashing cake in each other's faces!)
The cake was a delicious Tres Letche Cake!
The aftermath of the cake table.
All the single ladies lining up to catch the bouquet ...
which almost got lost in the lights!
Marianna was a the winner, and will be the next one to get married (I think that's how it goes).
Time for Bride's Maids' pictures

I don't think Merinda's ever felt so tall, being only 5'3" herself!
The beautiful girls in their colorful dresses!
